“Look, sometimes you want to pick cameras right up quickly because there’s stuff happening and you want to get in there right away, and sometimes you do want people to live their lives and see how things develop,” Andy Cohen said about the recently announced “Vanderpump Rules” production pause. “I think it’s a very good idea.”
Speaking on his “Andy Cohen Live” show on Radio Andy (Ch. 102), Andy — although not a producer on “Vanderpump Rules” — confirmed they used to take production breaks “all the time” on “Housewives.”
“We would say, ‘You know what? Let’s put cameras down for four or five months and come back to them. And they will have lived life. Things will be different,'” Andy explained.
He also detailed a “Watch What Happens Live” conversation with Ariana Madix where they discussed how “Vanderpump Rules” viewers often forget they starting filming three full months after Ariana found out about Tom Sandoval’s affair.
Andy added, “That’s why she’s still in the ‘violently angry’ stage.”
